I'm cool with the 18x7 215 tire.
The 10 on the rear would be nice but I've read it's a real pain to get the wheel on/off so I think I'd rather stick with the 8.5. What would you think I could do for a tire on that 8.5 255?
An 18x10 may be a little hard to get on yes. You would need to jack up the back one side at a time by the frame and possibly disconnect the shocks. I can get a 20x10 on without disconnecting the shocks, but never tried with an 18x10.
I'm in the process at the moment trying out tyres on my 57 on 18 inch wheels.
Up front I have 18 by 7 rims on a custom 4.65 back space. Lowered 3 inches and Chevelle disc brakes. Running 225/45/18 tyres, hoping to get a taller tyre.
On rears I have 18 by 9 rims with a 5.25 back space. Also lowered 3 inches. Running 275/45/18. Feels the guard with about 10mm to leaf spring and 25mm to outer lip.
I'm liking the look. The rear is about 50mm taller then the front at the moment. I'm looking at putting a taller tyre up front just to get it up to the 670mm diameter. My fronts are a little tight though.
