Default Plugging heater hose fittings on LS3

I don't run a heater in my 55 which has an LS 3
I'd like to clean up the area where the 2 heater hose connectors are coming out of the water pump. Rather than loop it I'd like to eliminate the 2 connectors and block off the holes
These connectors are pressed in
Whats the best method to remove the connectors?
Then whats best to cover the holes?
Thxs in advance

Given they're just press in, your favorite set of Channel-Lok's will work fine. Pull them out, tap it and insert the decorative threaded plug of your choosing. I did the same but installed AN fittings.

Pull them out with channel locks or visegrips and tap the small one 3/8 NPT and the large one 1/2 NPT and plug them.

I see conflicting information on plugging the heater ports or running a 2 way heater valve like VA uses, also the stock heater valve is the same way.

Here's a recent thread on this. https://www.trifive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=204576

My tendency is to say "plug it". If there's odd symptoms or problems, then you can try something else.

The LS3 thermostat should have bypass holes drilled in the base plate. The early LS1 units didn't hence the issues when blocking the heater ports. So LS3 should be a non issue. The early 1 piece housing thermostats lacked holes and guys started drilling them. But the later ones typically have the holes already.

Propane torch on the fittings. They are glued in. The heat will release the glue, and make it easier to pull out.

The car is at the shop, but here's an engine shot I have where you can see the water pump. I made the "U" hose as I didn't have the Vintage Air unit installed yet.
