Need somw help.
Looking for some infomation for installing new felt in my '55 2 door post Bel Air. I just finished doing the doors. There is a YouTube video that was really helpful installing the vent window, rollup window and new felt in the door. Now it's time to do the quarter panel felt. I was able to get the old felt removed. The quarter panel window is still installed. Can the new felt be installed without rwmoving the window? If the window needs to be removed, is the any information available for removing the window?
The lower outer side felt is a snap in type and I believe you should be able to install it with the window in the inner is attached with stainless staples to the inner window moulding. Now the felt channel travels from the back corner and is clipped right on then end. The rest of the way there are outer clips that are installed to the back of the felt track and then snapped in. However the forward end of the felt track at the bottom left corner of the window goes down to a bracket that has a tiny screw at the bottom left of the window as you face it from the inside.once the screw is removed you can slide the bracket out( The bracket slides into a little clip at The bottom)The trick is to get the proper measurement so th felt track fits tightly at the top corner. I would start at the front with the bracket and work my way back. I am installing the felt this week and my glass is supposed to arrive wednesday. Good luck have fun..
