Default Best power steering option for radical custom?

So among other things we are installing a 4 link, narrowed rear end, shock waves on front/back with tubular arms , disc up front and back. Car has 4 speed manual , 350 sbc, with no power steering. This car is going to sit as low as is mechanically possible. Full frame off build. Is rack and pinion the obvious choice? I am seeing some do not like R/P and some like a power steering box. Can you guys give me some solid input to help make the right decision? Thanks

I think it comes down to what will fit with the least amount of difficulty. My build is similar to yours. Except I went big block, moved the engine forward and went with side mounts... that right there, now effects header and steering and clutch linkages. For what I did, the r and p was a direct fit, I went with the kit from ecklers.... ididit column, big 2" headers... all the pieces fit (sort of). I did have to massage the rack bracket.

But where you are sticking with the 350, (stock steering?) .... you can probably go with a steering box... many have used them and are quote happy with them. They work well too.

Up to you.

Here's a past thread on R&P:

A setup that has a firm recommendation on the pieces needed is value added. To me, the CPP500 steering box is cheaper and a lot less trouble, and gives you the same end results.
