Default repair silver ceramic coated headers

Does anyone know of a paint or coating to repair ceramic coated headers?
I bought Patriot headers when I started building my car, drive train first. Big mistake. I have less than 20 miles on the car and one header has the coating gone bad. I have only a few test drives on it. They only warranty for 1 year. I broke in engine with exhaust manifolds, so I don't know what could cause it, but its ugly. Over $350 for headers and then this.

That is exactly why I never buy production coated headers. the coating is usually crap for quality.. I always send my header to Car Craft in Riverside, Ca for coating. they are totally awesome and reasonably priced.
those headers need to be stripped and recoated. they were not coated correctly the first time.

Patriots are made and coated overseas. Calling something "Patriot" when not made in the USA seems a bit oxymoronic to me. Anyway, I'd not expect longevity from their coating.

The way the coating is coming off and its location suggests to me that the coating prep wasn't done right.

I'm in your camp.

1) Factory coatings tend to be poor quality as you mention.

2) Headers FREQUENTLY do not fit and require tweaking. Some, like myself, will use a BFH to modify (sorry guys).

3) Some believe it's better to dial in a new engine BEFORE coating the Headers. They tend to severely dull if timing is off in left field.

4) Circling back to #2: if the header do not fit after the trial install, and a person wishes to return the header, its easier to do so if the header were purchased uncoated. As we all know, severely scratching a coated header on install is common.

Myself, I will NOT buy a coated header.

Hedman Elite series are warrantied for 5 years. I have installed several sets and have not had any peeling issues like that even after 5 years.

My recent shopping for LS headers left me with no choice. I ended up with Hookers. The headers came with no flanges on the collector of any kind. And they had O2 bungs but really in the wrong place. So I'll be welding on them, putting on V-band flanges and O2 bungs, then sending them out for coating.

Detailed a 40 Buick for a stock show, won its class & a grill badge.

Used Eastwood high temp paint on the exhaust.
