Default Camaro subframe question.

Hello all! I know this subject has been beat to death but am unable to find one quick answer. I just picked up my first 1955 SB Chevy truck. I am looking at doing the Camaro subframe swap as I can get a complete subframe and rear end from a 1979 Z28 for $350.00. I am more inclined to go the route of placing the truck frame on top of the rear section of the Camaro subframe and not grafting in like the "No Limit" fashion. My question is with using a small block 350 how much of a drop will I see? I am shooting for around a 4" drop because living in Montana our roads are not the best and I don't want to be hitting the pavement whenever I pull out from a parking lot.
If it does go lower than a 4 inch drop is there a way to raise it up via different spindles or springs without really screwing up the alignment angles?
Thank you so much for your time! I do appreciate it.

when placing the truck frame on top of the Camaro sub it will be close to stock height, maybe 2" lower. when you do the install slot the truck frame so the bottom sits flush with the bottom of the Camaro sub. it will be about 4" lower then. not in the weeds low but nice looking .

Thank you for the reply Hotrodg726. I appreciate it. I gather from what you are saying that if I mount it as in this image it will only have roughly a 2 inch drop?

that is exactly the way i do a clip. geometry stays right and it lowers the truck just right . it will be lower than a cut and butt .

Sorry, I have to disagree. Slotting it to be flush will make it super low. Porchdog is right on ride height.

Doing it stacked like you want will be adequate.

be sure to use offset upper bushing bars .
clip under frame will give another 2 1/2 in of drop .

To get the ride height you want set the truck on blocks where you want it to be when finished. Then merge the truck frame at that height with the Camaro stub at its stock ride height. That will give you the finished ride height you want with the designed suspension travel and ride height of the Camaro stub. You can always make small ride height adjustments from there.
That is basically what I did with my C4 conversion frame and it worked out nicely.

Custer I just went through your C4 frame build, very impressed, currently doing my 57 pickup, '88 C4 front and rear, made a new front cross member and rear mounting all myself, tacked in place at this moment, have to finish upper rear shock mounts and make a dummy shock to where i think ride height should be and put the cab and box back on for the test to see if i know what i'm doing or not, got some good ideas from yours, thanks

Ok lets see if I can make pics work

Heres the front set at what I think is the ride height I want

This should be the rear at ride height if rear tires are 1" taller
Throw in a few more just for fun

Had to reclock the power steering lines
