Default Wishing our 'down under' friends a safe trip home.

Many of us reported on our trips back home on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday, but I haven't seen, and I failed to ask our 'down under' friends what their plans for returning home was; I was enjoying talking to them about everything else!

It was my first time to meet all these folks, who each came a LONG way to attend the TriFive nats!

I talked at length to Seth - who is a great fella... he told me about his rise within the South African BMW corporation, and his personal relationship with Nelson Mandela which was very interesting).

Also great to meet and talk with Gaz55 (Gary) and his lady. I'd enjoyed reading his project thread on his '55 4-dr sedan and seeing his fantastic metal work, especially on his console! He told me that he was born in south Africa also, before moving to Brisbane area of Australia and he's a dental technician, using tiny welders to make the wire structures, so i'm sure that only one reason his metal console construction is so great!

I hope they all greatly enjoy their time in the US and have a safe trip back to the southern half of our planet!

Hi Gary, we are still in this beautiful country we have arrived in Las Vegas just last night. We flew to Denver after the show, then drove through Amarillo Texas, to Albuquerque, we have driven allong Route 66 as much as we could and visited all the little towns along the way.
From Albuquerque we drove to the Grand Canyon spent the night in flagstaff, next day we drove to Phoenix where I visited the lovely people at Ciadella interiors.

We then drove to Las Vegas via Kingman Arizona and the Hoover dam. Lots and lots of driving but well worth the time. We are making our way back to las Angeles were we will spend three nights before flying home.

We loved chatting to you and all the other lovely people we got to meet at the Nationals. You guys made us feel very welcome and for that we can’t thank you enough. It was so nice to put a face to the names and chat about the cars and everything else. We look forward to chatting again soon.

We all enjoyed talking to you and Jody as well!

And Thanks for replying and catching us all up on what you and Jody have done since leaving Bowling Green! Seems you guys are making a SUPER TRIP out of this trip to the US... I'm sure that Gina at Ciadella made you feel very welcome as well, and possibly fixed you up with an interior (or at least ideas for yours?)..

The old towns along Route 66 are the best indication today of what the US was like in the fifties before the interstates; it's something that many of us miss..

Enjoy the rest of your holiday here and have a SAFE trip home!
