Is this a feasible plan?
Sounds very feasible to me Geoff....Nashville is only about 1 1/2 hours away, depending on the traffic....You might consider going there, spend one night, then go back.

Default Gripes Regarding the Nationals

Golf carts are a part of beech bend. Every show has them. LS fest, hot rod reunion etc. Iím been to all five shows, and will continue to go. The carts are an inconvenience sometimes but are a known inconvenience going in. The biggest gripe I had were the people that are inconsiderate when leaving Saturday night. Thereís always a guy that wonít let traffic flow correctly because he donít want to let cars alternate at the exit from the campground to the entrance road. I drive a Motorhome and it never fails. Actually at each intersection this year.

This would be a opportunity for Chris to add this to the Nationals show. Kinda like Bloomington Gold & NCRS for Corvettes. Having your car judged and getting a Certificate for how it scored helps the value of your car when you decide to sell it. What do you think?
Chris said from the beginning no judging, never going to happen.
I don't even like the Top 25-to 5 to 1 picks. But the vendors wanted it, and you still hear the same complaints on who and how they got picked. I've been to all 5 Nationals and already paid for next year. Like it or not it is the BEST TriFive show in the world.

"What do I think?" Well, in my best Bill the Cat, Ack, ack, ack!!! How about if they just do that for the folks that do the VIP thing? Most judging, especially the 1000 point stuff, will become political overnight. Been there, done that. No more for me.

Unlike most posts here I was an individual who rented a golf cart. Not all will agree on the golf cart issue but for me it is a necessity. I tried to be mindfull of pedestrians and kept the speed down and was very cautious. there was however drivers of golf carts that drove like they were in the indy 500.

I cant even imagine the work that went into pulling this type of show off.

Pops I want to thank you for your work for tri five .com. you cooking and arranging the photo shoot and all your efforts at the tent. I enjoyed talking to you and meeting fellow members.

The fact that now there are arranging a show on the west coast will do nothing but cut into the car numbers at beach bend.

The fact that now its a 3 day event I feel was not a smart move. The only reason I say that is its hard to get a group of people togeather for the third day. It is very difficult. I make this trip every year with my grandsons. They have to schedule days off from work and the third day I feel is bit much. I fear that this show has turned into a money driven event.

The thing that gets me is the average Joe like myself when building his car or truck can,t afford to have a professional shop build a car with a 10,000 dollar frame , 12,000 dollar drive train and high end 10,000 paint job. Not to mention a 10,000 dollar interior. But there are hundreds of cars that guys built themselves , in their home garage on the cheap that are awesome! I feel that the top 25 is a builders competition and to get any where near these cars you have to be in the builders click.

Maybe I,m wrong but thats my 2 cents on the subject.

I love the show , the cars and the drags. I,ve been to the last 4 . I will be going again but I will not do the 3 day . I will arrive the thursday and thats it. I think by doing the 3 day thing you will see a drastic decrease in the numbers of the cars.

Again thanks to all who maned the trifive tent and especially thanks Pops for all that you do to promote and keeping trifive.com alive and well.

I have made all five of the shows, and with the good Lord's blessing I can make many more. As with any show, and that includes local venues, there is always something to gripe about. as a lot of others have stated, I can not afford either to run with the big dogs and their $350,000 cars. I do appreciate the amount of money and work that goes into them. The amount of work and planning that goes into the size of the show like Tri 5 Nats takes a toll on the administrators of the show. for that ,I appreciate them. Are there issues? Yes. Is there room for improvement? Maybe. It is, in my opinion, by a long shot, the best car show on planet earth. I will wade through the golf carts, and I will politely ask ( the first time), for them not to drive between my car and the one next to me. Other than that, I am going to have a blast going to that show and I am fortunate to be a part of the tri five nation. I saw lots of young families looking around at all our cars wishing against hope, that they may be able to afford even the cheapest example there. I hope that this next generation comes along and improves on our shortcomings. If you attended, thank you. You made my year.
