Default rear pressure reducing valve

Also called a proportional valve. Mine is a single unit separate from the front circuit. My question is when the knob is fully turned in so the valves function is decreased, is there some degree of reduction still happening. The reason I ask is I have discs front and rear using a Ford explorer diff with the stock ford disc brakes. I installed a reducing valve while redoing the car as a just in case type of thing, but I am finding it does not appear necessary with the valve turned to fully decreased. Having said that I have been told that there is a minimal reduction still happening in this valve when fully decreased. I am running GM single 2 15/16 calipers on the front with the ford calipers on the rear with 11/8 master cyl and a 8inch dual power unit Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Any chance your running a combination block that has one built in?That would account for a reduction regardless of what your adjustable is doing. In the Early Ford hot rod world the trick is find a large empty parking lot on a early sunday morning,and do panic stops.Adjust the valve so your fronts lock up first.If your rears are grabbing first you know to adjust their pressure down.

Nope nothing but the single adjustable valve. The car stops ok but I am wondering if there is really any need for one

Its to make sure you front brakes do the most work,and lock up before the rear. If you panic stop straight,and the rears don't lock up first...your there.
