I like the Griffin radiator PN 8-70018. Can be used in either 6 or 8 cyl position.
Has trans cooler and a fan shroud which can be removed is not needed.
Used it for my LS3 swap and it does a great job keeping things cool.

eidt: I found price ($369) and specs on website. All I see thought is the V8 mount. 6 cyl mounting an option?
We sell our products through dealers. Currently the 55-57 products are available through Eckler's and soon will be available through H&H and more. Dealers set their retail price and it's going to be around $320.

Currently, I understand that many of you have been on Tri-5 for many years and we're the new kid on the block. Because of that, I wanted to offer a few members special pricing so the buyers can come here on Tri-5 and offer his/her experiences.
We do have a specific model for the 55-56 front mount 6 cylinder rad support and integrated Auto trans cooler. It comes fully polished. It's 2 1" tubes which should have no problem cooling all but a monster motor. We also have electric fan/shroud combinations coming out the end of the month. Shoot me a PM and I can give you a special member price as I did for Wadem.

Thanks for your interest

Chris

After looking briefly through this site I see suggestions for aluminum rads from Auto City Classics and Champion / American Eagle. According to their website, all are made in China, and close in cost.

Champion's site shows
" Champion fill necks have been built with durability in mind. Whereas some of our competitors offer thin pressed in caps which may warp easily, it's no substitution for the peace of mind that comes with a durable, tig welded, thick billet fill neck."

Can anyone offer thoughts about the fill neck on these rads, and any other difference you think is important?

Any issues with bolt holes lining up, or hoses and lines being in the right places?
If you have your radiator in the V8 position (engine side of support) you will not have any issues with the Auto City Classics radiator. The only time there is an issue with them is when trying to install them in the 6 cylinder position on a 57. They fit either position on a 55/56 no problem.

Agree with Bruce....We need to establish which side of the bar your radiator will will reside on, before making a recommendation.

AMERICAN Eagle........made in China. Reminds me of that old joke when I was a kid. Parts stamped "Made in USA" and supposedly there was a city in Japan named "Usa ".

Go with the cheapest one inch two row . Champion is great but does not have a stock look (fabricated) Others look more original except they are aluminum and can be painted. You should be able to get a nice unit for under 200.00

Not sure if this post is to help the customer or annoy me!

Topdog, I'm not trying to start an argument. The following is just more information to help anyone who reads, weigh their options because if it was as simple as you say, we'd be out of business.

Champion- Fabricated tanks. 4 row price range is $275-$325. To get in the $200 price range you need to get their smaller 2 or 3 row models. Those may or may not be enough depending on your application. Lifetime Warranty. Champion line does not make a 2 1" tube radiator. You need to go with their American Eagle line for that. Price range is $300.

Auto City- Not a manufacturer. They are just a brown box importer. Nowhere on their box or radiator does it specify any brand name. You can buy that same radiator from anyone who has enough money to fill a container. At $200 I agree it's not a bad deal. However, if you want polished, it's $50 extra. Warranty? If you want a fan shroud, it's universal fit. And if you have problems....

Griffin- High quality radiator company. 2 1 1/4" tubes. I have nothing but good things to say about Griffin since they stopped using epoxy. Except some owners just can't justify the cost. Retail price around $700-$800

Cold Case- Polished finish included. Fan shroud kits are custom fit for maximum suction affect just like Griffin. We're a radiator company just like Griffin. All we do is radiator related products just like Griffin. Optional 2 1 1/4" tube units just like Griffin. Logo is stamped on each unit and we offer lifetime warranty because we're proud of the quality. Not even Griffin has either. Retail price around $300-$370
