So I picked up another "57" big window cab, bed, and frame (no front sheet metal). This will be a father and son build, My son Joey who is 14 has took up an interest in welding.
This time around iam building my own frame, after graphing a front and rear clip in the last truck I figured " whats another 6 feet" might as well just build a complete frame.
I ordered a IFS with air ride from SCOTTS hot rods, so it will be here in about two weeks.
Last week I built a table and leveled it for the frame construction. I chalk lined center and front and rear axle position ( moving the front axle forward 1" ) for a total of 115" wheel base. I also sprayed a clear coat over the chalk lines so they wont erase after time goes by.

That's great that you have your son getting involved. Something the two of you will always remember. The Scott's front end looks like it will be a nice setup and 115" sounds about perfect.
I like the artwork hanging above your pegboard! I have one very similar to that.
Thanks jim, Yea I use to build Harleys before the orange county choppers thang. I been watchin your build , Its Lookin great. that flat out engneering ifs is a very nice set up.
Yeah, before it was a fad. I can relate. Thanks for the compliment! I think the flat-out setup should handle a little better than stock lol.
I am going to really enjoy your build from scratch frame. My hat's off to ya!
