This is my 55 that I did a ground up restoration/modification on. I bought it as a basket case (no over statement there). It was so far apart that the frame was sitting beside it and everything that was held on with bolts was off. Body shell was sitting on 4X4's with wheels. The front clip was gone completely. The only part of the body that is original is the roof, cowl and left quarter panel. Everything else was from donor cars from all over the country.
This car was taken apart over 25 years ago and then changed owners at least 5 times before I got it. Each time it was sold/traded, less was there.
nice car! i live in louisville too. i am looking for a cam to put in a 350 56 chevy i would like to find a 283 270 hp corvette cam can you help? thanks jp
jp, this is sad and I should keep it to myself. But I gave a 56 265 away last spring that had a 270 cam and 57 283 pp heads. Sorry.
MINE WILL NEVER LOOK LIKE THIS ONE, TOO CLEAN. STEVEN
Steven, I have come to believe a person can make one 'too clean'. Much easier to drive one that doesn't require 8 hours of cleaning afterwards. Keep the faith.
Nice looking car Mike. Is that paint a stock '55 color?

I have this exact same car. I'll need to get in touch with you about some restoration and advice. Do you mind? Tom
Mike, looks like you are a pro at this. I am a novice, and cannot do much of the work myself, but I'm having a lot of fun, after waiting a life time to get started on it. I bought my 55 BelAir 2 dr ht in 1967, from my college room mate in Georgetown, KY.

Mike, Very nice 55. I have a question re. the wheel & tire size you used. Is the car lowered? I have a 55 sport coupe that I want to put Torque Thrust II's on. It is lowered 2" fron & back. Thanks. Gene in FL
Beautiful looks like glass
Great looking car. Enjoy. Must be a keeper.
hi mike norm here. i just read your rear window install . i did what you said but i am getting leaks across the top it is coming between the seal and the frame i am thinking around the molding clips do i need a sealer? thanks [email protected]
Man, does that bring back memories. My first car in 1963, Louisville, was a '55 Hard Top that same color. In Phoenix now with another '55, not nearly as nice as yours.
very nice car, just got one myself and I am looking for many parts to restore mine. Do you no where i can get some parts?
mike, I told you before how great I think your car looks. Take a look at my album and see the 55 in progress that I am building.
That is a great looking 55, I have a question, is that one of the original color combinations, and if so is it the lighter blue or is it the terquise color?
Nice ride Mickeky hope mine turns out as good as yours
