So I'm trying my luck at posting some more pic's, so I don't know why someone would run the gas line thru the inside of the car. But in this case I guess they did me a favor. What they did is run a 3eigth stainless steel line inside on top of the floor and than filled it with roofing tar, I guess to level the floor. So anyway all that tar was a pain to get rid off but as you can see it protected the floor from rusting.

That's a very solid appearing '55 Convertible! I'd just clean/protect and put it back together to polish/wax...
