General Information

Here's a custom LS engine I recently built as a magazine project. For sale. perfect for anyone with a Tri-Five Chevy who wants an LS engine platform. I posted the engine on the classifieds, so I hope it went through. The engine was pro-built for a magazine project. The engine pulled 670.5 HP at 6500 rpm and 581.7 lb-ft at 4900 rpm on engine dyno. LQ9 block that was sonic checked and then CNC blueprint accurized for dimensions and geometry. Bore size is 4.030", with 4.000" stroke Callies crank for 408 CID. Callies 6.125" H-beam rods, JE custom flat-top asymmetric pistons (11.2:1 compression). ARP main and head studs. Trick Flow 225cc CNC heads, Harland Sharp full-roller 1.7 rockers, Clevite H-series coated bearings, Melling hi-vol oil pump, Cloyes adj timing, Comp hyd roller cam with .624" valve lift. Comp short-race hyd roller lifters. Trend custom pushrods, Comp front cover with adj billet timing pointer, Fluidampr crank damper/pulley, Mezeiere polished alum water pump with idler pulley, Comp billet belt tensioner, Holley alum oil pan, Holley Hi-Ram intake with dual Holley 600cfm Ultra HP carbs and custom -6 fuel plumbing (with Petersen billet fuel manifold inlet). Vertex adapters allowed mounting smallblock Chevy valve covers (requires relocating coils). Aluminum valve covers powdercoated in wrinkle finish. Block exterior smoothed/polished/painted. Includes MSD 6LS-2 ignition controller, harness and MSD coils. Finely detailed showpiece with plenty of power and torque. Easy to change to single carb or fuel injection if so desired. Also easy to switch to LS valve covers if so desired. As-is, designed to provide LS technology while providing an old-school appearance.
The build is fully documented with tons of photos.
