Bought the car 16 years ago out of ukiah calif. The car had been built in the mid/late 80's by a kid in half moon bay calif. Two tone blue and silver with all stock trim. Interior was ugly buckets, astro turf carpet, black dash all lacquer checked. PAW 355 short block 292/480 hydrolic, 1.94 camel humps, victor jr and hooker super comps. Mallory hyfire and dist was locked out at 36. Saginaw 4 speed and stock rear with extra leafs and 3.55 posi. Cool thing was the original 14x7 torq thrusts. The car was tired and fouled plugs often. This became a father, son project.
The manual steering box was rebuilt, all polyurethane bushings installed, front disc brake kit with dual master cylinder, non power assist. Six cylinder springs, and left extra leak in back for a cool rake, we did add 4.11 posi center section. The interior was done in a 60's era black tuck n roll with blue piping. Dark blue dash with Stewart Warner gauges, stock bench went back in. Window trim is painted dark blue as well. The motor and heads were all freshened up, went with an mad set up this time. All stainless redone and chrome either re plated or bought new. The car was finished in 2001 a couple of months after I graduated high school. Had rally's on it with Mickey Thompson Indy profiles was he'll on the stock rear. I was young and doin the cruise nights and eventually blew the rear end, tranny. Replaced with a ford 9 with 3.50's and moser axles, Muncie replaced the Saginaw. Soon after I blew the motor, spun three bearings. The car sat for about two years.
In 2003 I had Bacas assembled a short block for the car. 40 over 350, rotating assembly from speed o motive(great price for all forged parts) worked a lot of bullshit jobs before I got into the trades, never had a lot to spend on parts. 3.562 forged eagle crank, 6.0 h beam rods, srp pistons milled for 10.77 comp. engle solid flat tappet, dart pro 1 aluminum heads, victor intake, mighty demon carb, Sanderson did a white ceramic coat on the new headmen headers. Motor was built, broke the cam in, replaced the center force clutch and stock bellhousing for a Lakewood and McLeod set up. A super T 10 replaced the Muncie. The car then sat until 2012. I served an apprenticeship, met my old lady, and went thru the motions.
Now on back on the horse. Installed a new stainless gas tank, sending unit, elec fuel pump, reg and braided lines. Ez wire harness, elec fan, aluminum radiator, 3.89 track lock posi, bench seat relocation brackets, new gauge set up, relocated battery to trunk. I've got in running now and can't believe I let this all go for so long, weird how I signed up in 2009 and only have 10 posts.
Any way, check out the car and thanks for all the support
