1957 Chevy 210 Townsman 4 Door Wagon

We are the 6th owners of this Michigan Beauty. We have the documented history of this car through it’s first 5 sets of owners as well as the original title (not a copy). The main reason the car is in such good shape is because when the original owner passed away his widow stored it in a nice dry heated walkout basement in St. Clair, Michigan from 1966 to 1993 thus avoiding the ravages of 27 salt encrusted winter seasons in our lovely state.
That also allowed it to escape 27 spring driving seasons which require a lot of driving skill and lots of luck to avoid the resultant canyon sized potholes which sprout every spring. From that point on of course, it has only seen limited driving duties during the summertime and was treated to a fresh paint job in the original Highland Green / Surf Green color combination in 1997 as well as new loop carpeting to replace the original rubber flooring and a cleaned and detailed engine compartment. The next owner replaced the original reproduction bias ply whitewalls and stock wheelcovers with the Cragar SS wheels and BFG radial T/A’s in 2002. The next year featured the installation of all new front end pieces (tie rods, ball joints, springs, sway bar etc plus a Heidt’s 2” dropped front end with disc brakes and a dual master cylinder. A new four core radiator was added for the summer cruising seasons ahead. The complete exhaust was replaced with a new stock single exhaust system.
We purchased the car after seeing it for sale at the Frankenmuth, Michigan show in September, 2003. It came with all of the original take off parts including the original rims, bias ply wide whitewalls and full wheel covers, front spindles, brake drums, springs, master cylinder, etc. Since we have had the car the carburetor was rebuilt and new plugs, wires, distributor cap and coil were installed. An electric wiper motor replaced the original vacuum unit and a new outside mirror was added. 4 new seat belts were installed and a new USA-5 Custom Auto Sound AM/FM/Cassette with 4 speakers. The complete undercarriage was cleaned and painted ( no patches ) in 2008 with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. The taillights were replaced with LED units purchased at the Auburn, Indiana auction/swap meet, which greatly increase the brightness and visibility from behind the car.
