Bel Air 4 Door Sedan
On July 18, 1955, Robert Wortz purchased a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door sedan with a 6 cylinder engine & Powerglide transmission. Robert's car was produced in Janesville, Wisconsin & sold through the Finch Downtown Chevrolet Dealer in St. Paul, Minnesota. When Robert purchased this car, he was a lieutenant in the Air Force & he was a pharmacist. During Robert's military service, he was stationed in Germany & this car went with him. Robert owned this car all of his life & in his later years, he was a science teacher in Banning California. Robert passed away in 2014. When I purchased this car, it was all original, including a fair amount of rust from it's days in St. Paul & still has it's original Shadow Gray & Coral GM paint & with a matching interior. A hideous color combination I think, but I guess Robert must have loved it, or he would not have kept this car all of his life. It now has a LT1 350 & a 700R4 & Posi. Also, front power disk brakes, 500 Power steering & AC. I have owned 3 56's & this is my 4th. 55.
