This 1955-1964 Chevy rear end center section is an original two-pinion type with cast arma-steel housing. The differential fits all passenger cars. We have inspected the ring and pinion so as to ensure minimal ware and tare on the differentials that we sell. Occasionally we pull in a positraction unit* but most rear ends are the standard differential.

Cost: $300

Ratios:
3.08*
3.36
3.55
3.70
4.11*

*additional cost

1955 - GM# ???
1956 - GM# 3707306
1957-1964 - GM# 3725899 (non/Pos)
1957-1961 - GM# 3743833 (Pos)
1962-1964 - GM# 3789812 (Pos)

How much for a 3.36 posi?
I have a 3.36 posi in my 55 wagon that I will be swapping out for a 3.55 in the next month or so. It will be available and if it has a new home sooner it can be swapped out as soon as it is sold. It has no issues at all, I just need a bit lower gear to stay in my power range on the highway. PM me if you need details.

As of right now, we don't have any posi units available. We may be getting one soon, but as of now, we don't have one. Hopefully, HotRod can help you out. I'd be curious (like Carmine) how much a 3.36 is selling for.

South East CP do your Center sections need to be gone through with new bearings and a seal?
The differentials are used so we recommend new seals. As for the bearings that is up to the customer. We make sure that the center sections function so that we are not selling scrap metal to our customer.

Did I answer your question?

I have gone through this rear end with all new bearings, crush sleeve and seal. It took the original shim to make a perfect patern

I want $390.00 for it and I will warranty it. You have any problems just send it back, unless you drag race it??? I ship these pieces in 5 gallon cans

Garys Gear box
ps it only had 68,000 miles to begin with

Not a bad offer.
