I was wondering if there is anyone else that is or has installed side pipes on a 1955 Chevy 4 door Bel air. I install side pipes on any Car I drive I love the OLD SCHOOL sound and look . I will be doing it this weekend hopefully just wondering if anyone has any photos or am I the only one . I am making this car for Me to drive Daily some will say I am devaluing the car I saw I am making it for me to enjoy. Just sold my 1969 Firebird to buy a REAL car my 1955 Chevy Bel Air ...

Side pipes

Knapper --- Go for it.... Its your car and if that is what you like and want to do, then do it. Glad to see another 55 4 door in the mix. There seems to be more being built and thats great!!!!!!!:congrats:

did them on a 71 skylark years ago, they are cool. will be looking forward to pics knapper. :cool:

I've always liked the look and especially the sound of side pipes. I've even seen them on a Gremlin! I will have side pipes, kind of. The pipes will run on the outside of the frame and dump before the rear tire.

Go for it!

Side pipes are cool. On my old 55 gasser I had years ago I had the fenderwell headers going into a big curved piece of pipe that I got at the diesel truck shop going right into a set of hooker side pipes. Love the sound! I may do it again on the 57.

I did not get a chance to install side pipes this weekend but NEXT weekend watch out for photos of the Coolest 55 Chevy Belair 4 door, YES 4 door to be on the road ....:sign0020:
