Got to work on the 1957 again for a little while. Installed the new serpentine pulleys and found that now my fan is going to rub on the pulleys. And the radiator isn`t quiet going to work in this configuration. I only have about 1/4" between the fan and radiator.Check out pages 15 and 16.

I`ve about come to the conclusion that i may have to move the radiator to the 6cyl. position and go that route.

Yes i know but was trying to keep it where it went but evidently the serpentine system is just going to add about 1/2" too much for that. The only other option would be to go to electric fans only and i`m not sure i want to do that either.

Dave it`s either move the radiator, go back to v-belts, or install electric fans for cooling. I`m not sure which way i`ll go at this point. I`m just frustrated that every time i work on it anymore something else has to be reworked or changed.

Boy does this sound familiar, I spent alot of time setting up a power antenna for the front of my 57, spent weeks looking for just the right one, I had to do some mods on it so it would look like a factory job, well this week I installed power window set-up and it now looks like I'll have to ditch the power antenna, I'm bummed

What we thought was right is now left!! I've been there before. I thought that I had ordered everything I would need for the rear brakes in January. As I finished assembling my chassis I figured out that I didn't have all the pieces, so I had to order more parts the week before last. I finally got them today. Now to find the time to put them all together and install the rear brakes. I need to set the body down on the mounts and get the doors and rockers and such lined up and braced . Then I can remove the body again to do the floors. It is ALL a learning process!!! Every day is a new day at school.

Blackie how come you can`t use the power antenna with the power windows? Just wondering. I want to do a power antenna but not too interested in the power windows at this point. Was the antenna an aftermarket one or one for a certain year and make car? Thanks for any info.

I used the original type wire harness loom that goes through the door to cowl and it runs right into the motor on the antenna, if I would have used the contact type connectors I would have been OK, but that means that the door would have to be closed to work power windows, the unit I used was a NOS vette type antenna, here are a couple pics, p/n 22048621 vette 78-82, can be found at a few places
