Hello,

Would appreciate any input on my 2bbl to 4bbl dilemma. Bought a 4GC carburetor that I thought(based upon the tag) was an early 1957 Chevrolet carburetor(tag read 7009846). As it turns out the air horn has a 9470 stamp which refers to a 1957 Oldsmobile application. I am running a Powerglide and since this carburetor would have been matched with a Hydramatic, would this carburetor work with my Powerglide?

Thank you,

1957 Rochester 4GC - Update

All,

Spoke to a few carburetor and transmission specialists and I'm happy to report that with some minor carb adjustments to the 1957 Olds unit, it will function fine on my 57 w/ the Powerglide.

Case semi-closed............................until the road test.

'57 OLDS - '57 CHEVY 4GC

NOT SAYING IT WON'T START AND RUN, BUT THERE ARE NUMEROUS DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE OLDS 4-JET AND THE CHEVY 4-JET....

THE THROTTLE ARMS ARE CERTAINLY DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE TWO,
DOUBLE CHECK THAT FOR SURE.

POST SOME PHOTOS OF WHAT YOU HAVE.

(oops sorry for the caps).
