I have a 1957 truck that I would like to install power steering in. I would like to retain the orignal steering column as it for a factory automatic. Can anyone offer suggestions or has this been done before? the CCP appears to be setup for aftermarket column. Can a stock column be used?
Thanks

There is new PS system that is almost exactly like the stock system. I've intalled it on a 57 Cameo with Hydra-Matic trans, it fit and works well. Here's the linkage portion:

The linkage installed:

I restored an original generator/pump assembly for the Cameo, but it can also be driven by a late model pump:

As with the OEM power steering, you do not touch your stock steering gear and column.
