Is this a good replacement for the stock carb? I don't want a tire smoking monster. Just a nice cruiser.

In case you were not aware, this is the "big" rochestor 2 bbl.
It needs a compatible intake. GM used em on large engines over the years.
Now it looks like these carbs are required for some dirt track class's ( maybe someone can help me out here)
you can see their nearly as expensive as a 4 bbl.
If you have the "small" 2g 2v etc, their pretty basic to rebuild.
Here's a link ( don't let their name fool ya- they have parts for just about all carbs(Rochester QUADRAJET 4 Barrel Carburetor Parts - Carburetor Parts & Kits for Carter, Ford Motorcraft, Holley & Rochester Carburetors) I've had good luck buying from them.
they have an "ID" your carb section, also https://www.carburetor-parts.com/- lottsa parts and great self help/ tutatorial video's-they have a good rep as well) . Reply, if yer lookin for a carb core, I can try to suggest some sources, or someone here will likley have one-good luck!!

I don't think this is a direct replacement, you may need an adaptor between carb and manifold also linkages need modifying to work
