Hello everyone. I won a 2002 LS 6.0 in a classic car raffle and I was wondering how and what I have to do to put it in my 1957 Chevy 4-door sedan. It has been converted to carburetor base and bored .30. completely rebuilt professionally. No water pump, fuel pump, coils, plugs, wires, and stock oilpan. It did come with Edelbrock 7118 - Edelbrock Performer RPM Chevrolet LS1 Carbureted Intake Manifold Kit that included a MSD 6LS-2 Ignition Controller 6012. I was wondering what steps I'd have to take to fit it in and hook it up to my 4-speed Muncie. And would it be better to convert it the rest of the way to a distributor setup. And what size carb do I put on it. I know I need water and fuel pumps, coils, plugs, wires, a different oilpan, radiator, and engine mounts. Is there anything I'm missing? does anyone have any pictures to help out? oh and what size of fuel pump and what thermostat. Thanks!
I would just buy used coilpacks and run the MSD. If not you have to buy a new front timing cover that will have a setup for a distributor, then buy a dizzy, that will mount in the front as well and look like a Ford motor.
Fuel pump you will need a electric carb one.
Carb size thes heads flow well so bigger that 650cfm. But I am no carb guy.
The water pump will have the thermostat in it usually a 190* unit. You can get lower.
But the crank pulley will really tell you what water pump to get if it has the truck puelly you need a truck water pump and accessory drive.
Good luck with that. Should be fun. bowtie-trifive :gba:
