well not sure what kind of shifter you have, a GM round bar muncie or a Hurst. you can easily rebuild the Hurst shifter. you can replace the shifter plates (the ones the linkage attaches to) and also the thin separater plates that go between the shifter plates. Key is to clean the shifter up good before you reassemble and lightly grease the shifter plates as you put them back together. have built many of these over the years. the round Bar GM muncie shifters can probably also be rebuilt, but finding parts may be a problem.

You might be better off by starting from the ground up...Replace the whole shifter with a Hurst Compitition Plus shifter package or replace shifter linkage on the Hurst shifter,if that is what you have allready.

:bowtier:find a used hurst competition plus, they are great shifters, and not so bad to re-build, just make sure you lay everything out as it came out and if this is the first time use a digital camera so you have something to go back and look at.:anim_25:
