049 and 781 are the best oval port open chamber heads GM ever made really respond well to 2.19/ 1.88 valve swap.

It's no pot of gold. Likely from a truck, suburban, or RV since the block is too new for a car. Check out the condition for spun bearings etc. Check your local actual sale prices. Check some shop labor and parts prices too. Also check the stamping on the deck surface behind the alternator and date code on the belhousing lip at the back of the engine. In OH that engine would bring 300-500 running. I'm not saying it's juck just don't get taken.

That block is far less plentiful than the car blocks. Some of them ended up in SS454 pickups. I have an empty one of them blocks that I've hung onto for years, just for that reason.

If yours turns out to be the 2bolt version it don't matter. You can still build high horsepower without worries. Pick out a good cam and intake, plus headers and you'll have enough power to put your car in the ditch if you're not careful.
