I like to go with a pcv kit from Eckler's but they don't seem to have a clue re. the 55s different draft tube, so I need a bit of direction here.

This kit has you pull the expansion plug from top of block (back of dist.) then install their parts from there to vacuum souce under carb.

Just need to know if I should pull this draft tube out the bottom and just plug that hole or what? And if anyone has a drawing or photo of how this draft tube connects up in the block, that would help.

Thanks
Jim

1955 ODD Ball draft tube...

Thanks for the responce, however the 1955 does not have this type of draft tube. 55 tube exits the block through a hole at the bottom of the block, unlike the one in the instructions.

My question here is how to deal with this; remove this tube and plug the hole somehow or not use this kit????????? My motor has a welch plug in the hole on top that I can remove and the parts shown in the kit should work fine.
I'd just like to lose this tube that spews oil vapor.

Ahh yes.....Sorry Jim....I had forgotten about road draft tube in the 55 block....Don't know if that was true for both standard shift and auto....However, it doesn't matter in your case.

Maybe some one that has dealt with a simular situation wil have the answer for you.

Draft Tube?

OK, 55219delray, Is the old draft tube plugged or removed or ???
This is the issue now, what to do with this tube, if still open that PCV valve would not be affective.
Thanks

Leave the draft tube in and plug the bottom with a cork :eek:then remove the top freeze plug and use the kit:smile:
Thanks Copper....I've been interested in this one.

If you don't want to use a cork....You can use an expansion plug.
