I bought this 55 Belair from another forum member KRUNK over in middle Montana.
He owned the car since the early 70s and it hasn't seen the light of day since 85/86.
It is an excellent start to a great streetcar and it will keep 99% of its original look while getting a handful of major upgrades.
Here are some before and progress photos.

Here it is back home in Washington. I fixed the frozen brake drum and am giving it a good washing. You can even see the original grease pencil markings on the firewall.

Here are the floor boards after I pulled & saved the carpet. I will be redying and reusing the carpet, pad and asphalt matting.

Almost impossible to find them in that overall condition any more. I see it had a rear seat speaker installed at some time in its life.

Very impressive. Enjoy the refurbishment.
Very nice project Darren! O.K. Krunk, how many more do you have in this condition?

I have found zero rust in it at all and only minor scaling under asphalt on passenger floor in a 6"x6" area.

Ok, what are your thoughts on build direction with it?

Here are a couple of my most recent 55's, my 68 & 63.

Did you do the paint jobs on the cars? The Camaro and Nova look outstanding
Thank you.
No, I didn't but actually the nova paint is 22 years old.
That don't look like no beater. Great car, rare to see one so well preserved these days, looks way better than the one I started out with in '76.

I vote for period correctness, if not restoration, on that one, no hole in the floor for a Hurst shifter, lol. Just won't look right without a generator.

Enjoy that project and thanks for sharing it.

Congratulations on a fine automobile.
Thank you!

I'm thinking procharged 540, Jeffco planetary trans, minitubs, narrowed 9" with 12" wide double beadlocks and a 25.3 cage. Keep full factory interior & body & paint as/is.
