Stupid question but can you run Fenderwell headers on a '55 without relocating the battery? I assume yes or maybe it depends on how high/out the design of the header is? Thanks Guys.
You can, and the headers should clear the battery tray fine. But a lot of heat close to the battery, and expect battery life to be shortened by the heat. Most people relocate the battery to the trunk when they use fenderwell headers.
The 57 tray is the easiest way to go if you want to keep it in the engine compartment. It can stay where it is but will eventually cook the battery unless you put some shielding in there to deflect the heat from the bottom of the battery.
Good to know on the 57 tray! My factory 55 tray doesn't fit with the bbc.
