I have a 56 Nomad. It currently has a 327 and I want to put back in the correct 265. However I don't know which 265 block casting would be correct. I don't want to list the exact serial number on the internet, However Serial number VC56N008000 is close to mine. According to what I've seen this should be a early october 55 built car. I have a 3703524 block with a E195 date sitting in the corner. Could this possibly be correct for my car ? Or what would be correct ?

If it was cast in late 55 it would have the date it was cast (Oct, Nov, Dec 55) for a 56 model production. Do you have a 56 265 or are you looking for one? I have a complete running 56 265 P/P engine & P/G trans available. It has 62,000 on it and came out in running condition last spring. I'm not sure of the dates but could check if you have any interest.
