Just installed a rebuilt control valve on my '57 with power steering and bought a new dust cover that goes over the ball stud. It came with a gasket. There was no gasket left on my old one so I'm not exactly sure where the gasket fits. Does it go on the outside of the installed dust cover over the ball stud? or under the dust cover? Thanks

Hey Ken....Didn't have time to look....But you may be able to find somethinf here:http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1955/55csm0919.html
Thanks for the attachment. I can't find any reference to this rubber washer that it seems like all the aftermarket places are including with their dust covers. I guess it's just their add-on to the dust cover, but they don't indicate just where it goes. I figure it's supposed to help hold the grease behind the dust cover in place (?) since where the ball stud goes is fairly open.
