I pulled my speedometer bullet from tail of my cast iron powerglide to put a new blue speed gear in it. I have a some questions to ensure my assembly is correct.

The plastic speedo gear shaft is not a super close fit inside the bullet - is that normal?

Is there any seal that fits inside the 57 bullet at either the internal or external end? I thought later bullets in the aluminum bullet had a seal that surrounded the plastic gear shaft at the speedo cable end but not sure about the CI glide.

What size is the outer o-ring seal, 3/4" ?

Thanks.

There is no inner seal. This was a constant source of leakage in my PG. I took the seal from a tbh350 and my bullet to a machine shop and had the bullet drilled out and the seal pressed inside. No more leak. Cost about $45. The end of the plastic gear rides inside of the seal.- John

I've seen that fix being done on other threads. Probably a good idea, in conjunction with changing the o ring on the outside of the bullet. I'll see if I can locate one of the 350 th bullet seals.
