Lubrication is key. If you can, pull them out and clean them with brake cleaner then spray all the pivot points with lithium grease. Smooth as butter, even old rusty ones after a good cleaning.
Did the lubrication before they went in, were hard to open from the get go, I thought I would revisit it down the track, just wanted the car finished and on the road, guess I just never went back, one day, its on the list :)
