My question is do i have to use the stock steering linkage with my 605 box?
The rod where the pitmin arm connects to seems to have alot of play. It has some adjustment if i tighten the spring but is there anything better I can use?

Check the ball that goes into that slot and check for wear. make sure the spring that keeps pressure on it isn`t collapsed. The slotted plug at the end can be adjusted to tighten it up.

If the pitman arm ball is worn replace it and you can get a rebuild kit for the steering arm link if you can't adjust the slack out of your old one. Hard to find but I see them on the internet from time to time.
