A little loose, but not too much.

A 2500 stall convertor is a very nice street convertor in my opinion. It allows the engine to carry just a little more punch at lower speeds.

I liked the one in my stock 350 Cutlass TH-350 so much, I took it out when I sold the car.

With a stock motor 1800 RPM should be plenty. Bigger cam requires more RPM for take off. Just don't try a 1200 lockup. I did and had trouble getting car stopped in cold conditions with a cold motor .
