Understand that I need an 87 and up 700-R4, to get the beefier unit with an auxilliary valve.....How can I ID one from looking at it? If anyone has photos that will help, I'm sure.

I have '83, '86, '88 and '89 700R4 transmissions...
The codes are located where the blue arrow is pointing...
The line where the green arrow is pointing is present on the '88 and '89 but not on the older 2...
Hope this helps a little...
