I've used different ones in the past but they didn't have the gloss of Chrome...just wondering if now they have better products.

You might have better luck with some of that chrome adhesive vinyl "wrap". What is it you need to chrome?

Do you want "horseshoes close" or "hand grenade close"?

"Hand grenades close" is pretty much what's available.

I tried the chrome paint. Waste of money. No substitute for chrome.
Ditto on that. I wasted a fair amount of money on chrome paint trying to even come close to duplicating a rechroming job. Not possible, at least not for me. If chrome paint was so good, the chromers would be out of business. I can't speak for the chrome wrap though, Carmine.

There was a two process paint procedure for painting chrome onto parts, I did not hear or get good reviews for chrome lasting long term.

Some of this stuff look decent from the start but put one finger print on it and its dull. That would be the business to invent really good AND affordable chrome paint.

I saw some stuff a few years ago that was done in stages. But when I saw the price, I thought might as well get real chrome.

Well, this IS close. The coating is silver, probably not a DIY stuff though.
