I cant remember if I posted this before, sorry if I did. But again going to car shows many people ask about the items under my dash . As some may know I'm a accessory nut if GM offered it for a Corvette, if it helps me enjoy driving my Corvettes I also installed after market item of that time period in my Corvette or my cars. Guys here that drive an Automatic transmission this may interest you!

It's called an OIL EYE that is used to check your engine oil level but I use it to check my trans oil level. It works on engine vacuum. You install a pipe down the trans filler tube to a level that if it's one quart Low the eye will not fill up . If the oil level is OK it will fill with red trans oil. It also lights up for night inspection . So when the engine is running you push the oil eye button ,it lights and fills with trans oil and when you let the button off the oil returns .
Now I don't have to open the hood and get burned or dirty to check my trans level. It can also be done while driving.
By the way the item right of the oil eye is a AC automatic cigarette lighter, you place the cigarette in push the ring in and when the cigarette pops back it's lit. Never have a need to use my original lighter.
After smoking a cigarette still being lit I place it in my Flamless Ashtray which sucks it into a vacuum bottle behind the driver kick panel. So I never need to use my cigarette ash tray.

I have many little GM options in my 55 and after market items if anyone would like to know more.?:rolleyes:

Your only chance is to keep looking on e-bay for one should be around 1 to $200.00 :anim_25:
