I went to NAPA & bought a spray can of black vinyl dye.Has anyone ever used it?Is it permanent or does it bleed?
If you have dyed vinyl, what did you use to clean the vinyl before dyeing it?

YEAH!

BACK IN THE EARLY EIGHTIES I BOUGHT A REPLACEMENT CONSOLE LID FOR MY 78 CAMARO MINE WAS GREEN AND ONE FROM A YARD WAS BLACK. WENT TO A SHOP AND THEY RECOMMENDED GETTING DYE FROM AUTO PAINT STORE. USED DITZLER (SPELLING?) WORKED VERY WELL . THEY HAD A DITZLER CLEANER THAT I USED. Just make sure stuff is clean and dye in a dust free area ,clean as a booth.:anim_25:

The vinyl dye is really more like a flexible paint. It works pretty well. Ive dyed several vinyl seats etc over the years. I usually clean the vinyl with naptha before spraying.
