How hard is it to get the rear axle bearings off on stock 55 axles. Is it best to torch them or slice them off with a small disc cutting wheel or what.
thanks DONZIE
I would take them to the local garage and have them pressed off and the new ones pressed on. Sounds like a cop-out, but it is soooo much easier with a press.
The procedure was to cut the lock sleeve with a hammer and chisel, then press the old bearing off. Check the seat and the flange and then press the new bearing and lock onto the axle. Worth it to have shop do it.
