If this is a brand new rebuilt engine, I would not be breaking it in with synthetic oil...(ZDDP added or not)

This would be a better choice IMHO: Robot or human?

Pops is correct here. drain it and refill with conventional oil. synthetic will not let the rings seat properly or maybe at all. usually leads to glazing the cylinders. If it were me, I would drain and refill and replace the oil filter. that should be sufficient. better safe than sorry. Save the synthetic for after the first 1500 miles. and for the cost I would only use mobile 1 not that penzoil garbage.

on my first trip from California to Bowling Green my car had been no further than 75 miles from home. We went 780 miles on the first day of the trip. I was super nervous the whole day. it was a breeze after that.

It’s a pusher and I have a mechanical 4 blade going in on the other side.
you would be better off with a shroud and the 5 blade A/C type fan and skip the electric.
those zip-tie type fan anchors are notorious for causing radiator core leaks, and ruining a radiator.

a padded dolly and padded hammer would remove that if you are careful

tape a hand towel over the bead of the rubber mallet and wrap a dolly the same way. trust me it is worth it.

So, some parts came in, some ordered, and no time to install anything today or tomorrow.

Second exhaust hangar (looks perfect!) came in from Larry @chevyman57 and will get it welded in place. Ordered a new alternator bracket to move the alternator to the passenger side for now. I need to do that because the mount I’m using now puts the alternator right in the way for the radiator hose for the 6cyl radiator.

If this new vacuum port breaks on the power brake reservoir, then something has gone terribly wrong. I have the hose already plumbed up with an 6AN fitting.

Judging from the Oring that is popping out by the an6 nipple I would not hold my breath. looks like a good vacuum leak source

have you pressure tested the engine yet to find the leak?? from the sounds of it you're jumping to conclusions. could be something as simple as a intake gasket leak

Holley terminator X for the 5.3L but get the max version so you can run a 4L60e later, to gain OD.

Also CR will be 10.5:1 with 706 and flat tops. Even the valve reliefs won’t drop it much. Going to be ruff with 87 gas.
not if you know how to tune. we made 430hp at the rear wheels on 87 octane with an ls2 @10.7 to 1
