What weight motor oil are you using for your blower motors? (30wt. 10W-30, 10W-40, 20w-50)???

I never had to oil my blower motor. But if I did, 3 in 1 would be pretty good.

You know what he is talking about. A blower motor puts more stress on the crank rods and bearings. I think I'd start with at least 20-50 or maybe straight 40w depending on what clearance was built into the motor.

With the motor broken in, I am thinking of going with a heavier oil just looking for some input. LOL I think 3 - 1 is a little light.

I was running 20-50 in my blown small block in my camino.

I run Red Line 50 weight and change often..454 with an 8/71. Let it warm up to 140 F oil temp. prior to any playing around.

I run 20-50 in mine, but it's a Vortech and is oil feed.
