Boy i thought the underhood mess was bad. Well today i crawled under the car.. It made the underhood mess look like nothing. Spent around an hour so far cleaning and have another 2-3hrs to go i figure. Well it was nice and clean underneath the 57. Lots of oil/dirt mix to clean off, while laying on the my backside sure isn`t what i would call fun.

Terry, yesterday I put 3/4 headers on my car. Of course I had to remove the dipstick and plugs to get the drivers side installed. While the motor was running for the break in period I started noticing smoke(lots of smoke) on the drivers side. Oil every where! I FORGOT to put the dipstick tube back in. So today I will be be bent over cleaning and then doing the underneath.

Yep, it is jacked up and sitting on jack stands on all four corners. Still not a lot of fun though.

YAHOOOOO It is pretty much cleaned up underneath now. This mistake only cost me 4-5hrs of cleaning time. At least 3-3 1/2 hrs on the underneath alone. I`ll be more observant when checking underhood fluids in the future, hopefully.

One good thing though is that i found a rear sway bar-to rearend mount loose while cleaning. It had also lost the saddle bracket that kept it level on the rearend. So now i am making a new bracket for that. I think the muffler shop had loosened it up and forgot to tighten it back up.

I went with Patriot headers made for Trifives with the 605 steering box. they hug the block real nice, BUT you will need a mini starter and will need to remove your spark plugs on the drivers side for the install--Just remember to reinstall the plugs before you tighten up the header bolts. Ordered the headers from Danchuck.

PS Dont forget to reinstall your dip stick!!!!!! LOL
