any suggestions for restorations and assembly? with lots of pics so i don't have the do-over syndrome. have the 57 assembly book but you'll wear out the pages trying to find stuff, there's no index. anyone ever make a list of re-assembly order?

"How To Restore Your 57 Chevy" by Williams and Louisiana -which is probably the one "TOMMO" is refering to- is a MUST. It has a table of contents but no index. That shouldn't deter you. The detailed text and excellent illustrations will make life a lot easier.

the shop manual as well. I use all three (shop, assembly, and how to restore your 57.. and the Chilton at times) and they all show different stuff.

I use the same as JERRSPUD, except I use "Motors" repair manual and not "Chiltons". "Motors" has the trans tear down in it and best I remember "Chiltons" don't. But hey, why not get both?
