My 57 has the standard un assisted drum brake set up.
What have people used in the way with off the shelf set ups from dan chucks to go to boosted brakes and discs up front and drop spindels.
I also have a set of 15 inch wheels i would like to retain so hopefully a set up with out changing my offset would be awsome as well.

Check out Tom's Classic on e-bay. I bought my disk brake conversion from him for 399.00 plus shipping. Also came with stainless steel brake lines and drilled and slotted rotors. I don't know if he ships out of the US. Jim

I kept the manual master setup on the 56, and just added rear disks with the new rear axle. stops incredibly well now (4 wheel disk- CPP/Danchuck disk on front, Strange disk setup on rear)
