changed out the hood on the 57 and after blasting, i found someone had brazed the corners by the cowl to fix some damage. will the brass cause problems later? thanks

In a word , No, not likely to cause any problem.

The brass is not a problem, but the brazing flux can be. In your case it's probably long gone.
