You got more 'press' from your 'super secret gas door' than even all your travels!~ :)

Maybe you should put a 'super secret tail light opener' on the RH tail light, just to solicit comments/questions about.. 'What cha got in there'?? :)
Right @BamaNomad ?!?
It doesn't make any sense to me.
Now I'll have to come up with something for the passenger side tail light!!
Got any ideas for me??

Can never beat the original design. And there are always locking gas caps.
Thanks @WSSmolick - I think it's cool too!!
It's got a locking gas cap on it now - that's not the purpose - I like a smooth rear quarter panel.
And it's got a backup so I can access the gas door if the "push button electronic crap" fails.
It looks to me like Rocky Hinge did in fact beat the original design.
All the best

A Nomader from Florida brought his '56 Nomad to the Chattanooga convention in 2014 - the first time I'd seen it. He had installed the 'hidden gas door' '56 tail light on BOTH sides of his '56. Behind the RH tail light he had a panel with controls and switches that he could control the functions of his '56 Nomad. I thought it was neat and no one trying to steal his Nomad would ever think to check out that area for 'shut down' switches, alarms, etc.. :)

Very cool!! Thanks @BamaNomad !!
I've already got a few kill switches hidden around the car, but one more cant hurt.
I've got an E-Stop that locks the rear wheels in place.
And I've got a Trak-4 GPS asset locator hidden away in there too.
Even if they manage to get it on a flat bed I'll get a notification in 15-seconds if the car is moved outside of the geozone I've created and I'll know exactly where it is so it can be recovered.
Thanks again for the suggestion!!

I once worked with a guy who had a Javelin. He was driving it with no dash whatsoever. Everything he needed was on a multitude of small toggle switches in a custom console, and none were marked. To start it you needed to have 4 or 5 SPDT switches in the proper position. Multiply those odds including all the other switches, it would be damn near impossible to figure out the combination. I don't know how he got it to pass inspection in PA.

I love it @55 Tony !!
That's how it was when I asked Finn if I could drive Blasphemi
There were no keys, just a starting sequence of switches
And if you didn't know the sequence it wouldn't start
I love cool stuff like that!!
Thanks for sharing & giving me some ideas

Put an air compressor outlet behind the other taillight. Have it swing out and a quick connect to an air hose.

I know, not exciting but could be quite handy / functional. I will put an onboard air compressor in Bertha behind the rear seat just to have air in an emergency.

That's a great idea @ETriggs !!
It's super exciting - you could use it for pneumatic tools or to air up or down your tires.
And you could use it to power a big-ass train horn to get those dumb-asses out of the left lane.
I've also seen it used to power a blender to make frozen margaritas.
Thanks again for the great idea!!

Go to post #1 @zookpr Do you see the blue " Orange County Hotrods & the Super Secret Gas Door "
Click on that blue link and it'll take you directly to the video.
Let me know if you need any more help
No help needed. Didn't open the link. Have seen the product quite some time back. Still not something I would consider. I do like the thought of eliminating the gas door in the quarter but not something I would do either. I have an SS454 El Camino and it has a door in the quarter. And.. I have owned it since I was 18 so I'm used to it.

You don't need any help
You didn't open the link
You've seen the product before
And it's not something you would consider
With all due respect
Why are you commenting on this @zookpr ?

You were interested at the start even though you had seen the product before and it's not something you'd consider @zookpr
That doesn't make any sense to me.
Please explain
I thought it was something new from the title. From the initial title "Check out the Super Secret Gas Door". I was lured to open the thread from the title. After opening, I saw the video link and realized it was NOT something even secret, let alone super, nor even something new. I made my initial comment. That's enough. This is not YouTube. As others have said you are looking needy. Stop.

You're funny @zookpr
You're the one who keeps on "responding to my quotes"
Needy?!? That's the pot calling the kettle pot
I started this post
Since you don't have anything positive to contribute go somewhere else and comment on their quotes if you need affirmation so desperately
Keep on trolling
