Im looking for recommendations for a high quality chrome shop preferably In northern Ca , but willing to do mail order . I spoke with Ogen plating , which I know does great work , but theyre prices seem un realistic , or maybe they just don't need the work . Theres some shops around here but they all have lousey ratings on yelp . Any Input would be appreciated .

Sherm's plating in Sacramento. They have 3 levels of workmanship that are based on your needs. The top level is some of the best in the country and they are proud of it. The next level below that is very nice. They are a great place to deal with. They are outstanding on pot metal or any part that has detail that cannot be lost.

Ogden used to be competitive but now that they do plating for Kindigit it seems their prices have skyrocketed. Last quote I got from them was more than double I paid locally. It seems they don’t need the work....

do you use the plating shop in Gainesville (or maybe it's near there)? Forget the name. Was recommended to me a good while ago by a guy who I did industrial machine shop business with.
I have heard that there is a good chromer in Gainesville. I would like to hear more about the place myself.

Sherms in Sacramento probably the best in western US. They seem to do a large number of the professionally built show cars. Here in SoCal Verns is very good, probably best around.

Hi Rick. Yes I do. They are 20 miles from me. I’ve had good luck with them. They do a lot of work for local shops and also do plating for Peterbilt.

North Texas Quality Chrome.

Make sure you understand how the plater will finish off the back side if you are into show quality bumpers. I find that you are better off with reproduction bumpers for over fit and finish

I second on this recommend. Not cheap by any means, but worth every penny on something you care about.

A friend is having his early Vette grill teeth done for the grill on his chopped 51 Merc there a couple at a time at $225 (top tier price) a pop. The quality is outstanding though.
