Any tips on cleaning/ clearing fuel lines? Dropped tank to 57 bel air sedan. Carb is being re built, new sending unit on the way. Gone this far want to clear lines but not sure if good old air from compressor is enough.

Much thanks!

Ethanol.

Straight ethanol is one fine solvent, and will evaporate on it's own. Methanol is just as good.

Anyone who has converted an old hot rod from gasoline to alky found this to be true. Finest fuel system cleaner on the planet.

I'd suggest also to try E85 motor fuel if that's all you can locate. Your compressor will do fine. Flush it several times.

No rust, I dropped tank, new sending unit is here today, carb is off for rebuild. Gotta go buy an air compressor to get lines flushed. Appreciate the sock trick idea as I would not have thought of that.
