I have a 57 2dr post that was originally a six standard. The original owner installed a 283 w/power glide, but kept the standard shift column.

I have a shift indicator for the power glide, but in taking apart the top end of the column I find there is no way to connect the shift tube to the indicator.

Do I need to get a complete power glide shift column, or is there a mod out there to adapt the standard column to the shift indicator?

Also I don't think there is a kick down rod for the power glide in my car. Is that something that can be added?

Thanks!!

On a 57, the shift indicator is in the speedometer. The speedometer is different in a standard and auto. I think you would be ahead by getting an automatic column. Then you would have a place for the neutral safety switch and the shift indicator wire to attach to the shift tube. There should be plenty of stock columns around, with a lot of folks going to aftermarket tilt columns.

O K , Thanks -- any one out ther have such an animal. Also, I do have the shift indicator -- does that bolt into the standard instrument cluster, or does that need to be changed also?

Thanks
